Parking Lot Greeters.
This is a very simple volunteer project and can get some
new people involved at a beginning level.
Ask a few of your members to stand outside, walk up to
cars as they park, and just be friendly. Everyone loves
a friendly, smiling face. Walk them back to the
building. Make sure their kids get herded in the right
direction. Help them carry their things. Our older
members are so obviously happy when someone walks out
and opens the door for them, then gives them an arm to
walk to the building.
It can be a bit of a training ground, too. Put an
outgoing person with someone who's shy. Let a young
person partner with someone older. Let a new member work
with a long-time member.
Believe me, if you get to be known as a friendly church
and you are on the right path.
